Problems with installing packages

Post by lothrie »

Hi,

I'm Sandy and new in the world of LaTeX.
Now I have a very annoying problem.
I would like to add a package (I've tried with titlesec and with fncychap) but it really don't want to work.
I downloaded the package, extracted it, so the result is a map.
This map I copied to C:/program files/MiKTeX 2.8/tex/latex

Yesterday I did so with the package everyshi, and this works just fine. But today it really doesn't want to work.
Do I miss a step?
When I run for example fncychap in LEd, it says that the file fncychap.tex is missing (while that's the one I'm running?)

Thanks!

Just use the MiKTeX Package Manager to install packages. You can find it in the »Start« menu.

Best regards and welcome to the board
